Teachers Participate in 30th Annual Nuclear Education Course

Twenty teachers from across northeast and central PA are participating in the  annual Nuclear Energy Seminar for Teachers (NEST) at the Susquehanna Energy Information Center. This course is providing educators with objective, up-to-date information about the fundamentals of nuclear power, emerging use of nuclear isotopes in the medical field and the safe and secure operation of PPL’s Susquehanna nuclear power plant. The course is taught by Dr. David Simpson, professor at Bloomsburg University, and many PPL employees using PPL onsite facilities at the Susquehanna nuclear power plant as well as some off-site field trips. Today we took a field trip to the Bear Creek Wind Farm to learn about wind energy technology. I thoroughly enjoy facilitating this course and working with these wonderful teachers.
