Go geocaching on the Tekening Trails at PPL’s Martins Creek Preserve

Enjoy a fun morning learning about the basics of GPS operation and geocaching — a simple, adventurous activity that uses GPS technology to find hidden treasures from 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17 at PPL’s Martins Creek Environmental Preserve.
Led by Jane Frye, a well-known naturalist, we will explore some local geocaches including one that will lead us through a mature and diverse forest of the Tekening Trails noted for unusual rock formations and incredible views of the Delaware River. Bring your own GPS or feel free to borrow one of ours. Please dress for outside activities. Click here for more information on caches at other PPL preserves.
This free program will meet at the Cedars Pavilion. For directions, visit www.pplpreserves.com, click on “Martins Creek” then select “Directions.” Registration is required. For more information, contact PPL at 570-542-2886 or pplpreserves@pplweb.com.
The Martins Creek Environmental Preserve, in conjunction with PPL’s Martins Creek and Lower Mount Bethel Energy power plants, offers 215 acres of woodlands and meadows for hiking and exploring and boasts five miles of trails with views of the middle Delaware River, which has been designated by Congress as a Wild and Scenic River.
