Soggy, but fun, Earth Day celebration

Talking to Smokey and Woodsy at Earth Day

Despite the chilly weather and rainy skies, over 300 people joined the celebration at the 13th annual Pike-Wayne Earth Day Festival held at PPL’s Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center on Saturday. Along with the ever-popular Woodsy Owl and Smokey Bear, there were recycled art activities, information on energy conservation and renewables, bird walks, a green camping demo, music and puppet shows and much more. This festival showcases the various conservation groups located in Pike and Wayne counties. Thanks to all who participated. It was a great way to spend a rainy day…the smiles were plentiful!
