Learn about pond maintenance at PPL’s Lake Wallenpaupack

Private pond owners and members of lake-based community organizations can learn about lake and pond management and restoration during this workshop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 27, at PPL’s Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center.

Join Peter Wulfhorst of the Penn State Cooperative Extension for a workshop addressing lake ecology, aquatic plant control, fisheries and wildlife issues, and water testing of ponds and lakes. The workshop is co-sponsored by the Pennsylvania Lake Management Society, Consortium for Scientific Assistance to Watersheds and the Pocono Northeast Resource & Conservation Development Council.

The cost of the workshop is $25 per person and includes breakfast, lunch and informational materials. For more information or to register, contact the Pike County Cooperative Extension Office at 570-296-3400. The registration deadline is March 23.
