Weather workshop for teachers

Educators are invited to become meteorologists for a day and learn how to turn their classrooms into weather stations during this teacher workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, at PPL’s Montour Environmental Preserve.

Heather Dock, meteorologist, will lead this workshop that will explore weather folklore and expand your knowledge and understanding of how weather really works. Hands-on activities will accompany instruction as we reveal the mysteries of the ever-changing atmosphere. Educators will receive a collection of activities and resources aligned to state academic standards to use with their classroom for all grade levels.

Morning refreshments and lunch will be provided. Act 48 hours are available. Registration is required.

This free workshop will be held at the environmental education center.
