On Monday January 23rd, Alana Roberts, PPL Community Affairs Specialist met with Dr. Sandra Fellin, superintendent of Saucon Valley School District, Carl Atkinson, assistant superintendent of SVSD and Susan Kennedy, Chair of the Saucon Valley Foundation for Educational Innovation on the campus of SVSD to present the Saucon Valley Foundation for Educational Innovation with a $2,000 Empowering Educators grant to support the creation of an environmental education center on the school’s grounds. This multiphase project will be starting this spring. Soon students of all ages from Saucon Valley will have hands-on opportunities to learn about the environment right outside their classroom doors.
